PDQ is a way to comment on the rapid speed of something, such as a person's response time, flight time, or Internet speed. For example, if you received your food quickly at a restaurant, you might message your friend, "The food was delicious, and the service was pdq!"
"Pretty darn quick" is a saying popularized during World War 2 in the 1940s that people turned into "PDQ." It even became the name of a popular chain of midwestern convenience stores that started in 1948, which Kwik Trip later acquired in 2017.
Most people use it when texting or messaging online. Also, while people often use "PDQ" with the "D" representing "darn," the "D" may also represent "d***."
