Brand dropping is when a person is bragging about the brand of an item that he owns, such as clothing, car, or technology. It is similar to "name dropping" but instead of mentioning a person, it's a brand name.
Brand dropping is typically done by people who are insecure and want to impress people by their brand taste or ability to afford certain brands. It can get pretty annoying to listen to and can easily be seen through, so don't do it.
