Phubbing is when a person snubs another person in order to be on his phone.
The term combines "phone" and "snubbing" and was coined and popularized in 2012 during a "Stop Phubbing" campaign by Macquarie Dictionary. As the use of mobile devices increase more people choose to be on their device, often a phone, rather than engage with others IRL. The negative habit has also infiltrated romantic relationships as it decreases intimacy.
