A trekkie is a diehard fan of the "Star Trek" series, whether it be the movies or television shows. Many "Trekkies" are self-professed nerds or geeks and often dress up for comic book conventions and movie premieres. Some "Trekkies" collect toys and other memorabilia and live in their parents' basement. A Trekkie is also known as a Trekker.
