ISP

What does ISP stand for?

Internet Service Provider

An ISP is an Internet Service Provider. These companies and organizations provide customers with access to the Internet. They may also allow users to purchase domain names, set up email accounts, and host websites. Some notable ISPs include Xfinity, AT&T, Verizon, and Charter Spectrum.

To access the Internet through an ISP, you typically connect your PC to a modem, which is in turn connected to a cable outlet. The modem communicates with your ISP, which has a direct connection to the Internet's backbone. This allows you to send and receive data over the Internet.
