RMAH

What does RMAH stand for in Diablo 3?

Real money auction house

RMAH is a feature from the game Diablo 3 that allowed players to buy and sell in-game items for actual money, rather than in-game currency like gold. Introduced by Blizzard Entertainment, the RMAH opened up the possibility for players to make real-world cash while gaming, turning virtual conquests into tangible profits. This feature created a lively marketplace where weapons, armor, and other gear became commodities with genuine financial value.

The idea was a game-changer; however, it wasn't without controversy. Critics argued that it skewed gameplay, favoring those who could spend more money, and turned Diablo 3 into a pay-to-win scenario. As a result of these criticisms and other factors, Blizzard eventually shut down the RMAH in 2014.
