What does BYOD stand for in education?

In educational and tech settings, BYOD stands for "bring your own device." If you see this acronym included in a syllabus or event listing, you'll want to bring your PC, laptop, tablet, or other applicable electronic device to that event.

For example, if a friend who invited you to a LAN party tells you to BYOD, you'll want to bring your PC to the party. Or, if your child's school has a BYOD policy, you may have to purchase a laptop or tablet for your child to use in class.
