Crushing It

What does crushing it mean?

Doing very well

If you are working on a project and someone says you are "crushing it," that means you are doing very well. This slang term likely originates from baseball, where a batter crushing a pitch can result in a HR (which is very good).

Because English is incredibly confusing, "crushing it" has nothing to do with crushing or crushes. The only time "crushing it" might be used in regard to a ship is if a particular date or your relationship as a whole is going well. Then, someone might say you are "crushing it" while you are dating your crush.

Example

Mega depressed but have pants on. About to leave for work on time
Crushing it! You can do it!
