Most often, people respond with DK when they don't know the answer to a question you just asked them. For example, if you ask your friend "What does DK mean?," they might respond with "DK." (Which would mean they're lying.)
You can extend DK to IDK to form the complete sentence "I don't know." DK and IDK are both good acronyms to add to your slang lexicon, as they're commonly used and understood by many people.
