A germaphobe is a person who has a fear of germs and is obsessed with being clean. These types of people try to avoid a lot of contact with other people and objects that are known for spreading germs, such as a toilet, phone, door handles, and railings.

Most germaphobes carry around antibacterial wipes or bottles of sanitizer to disinfect the parts of their body that have contacted other people, which usually is their hands. Most germaphobes are scared of germs because they don't want to get sick and can't stand the idea of having other people's germs on them.
