Someone who sends you IDU does not understand what you're trying to say. For example, you might receive IDU after you've tried to explain something to a friend or colleague. IDU is a signal that, whatever you were trying to explain, they didn't get it.
IDU is similar to the much more commonly used IDK, which stands for "I don't know." If you receive either of these acronyms in response to a message you've sent, you'll need to take another stab at getting your point across. (Maybe try using pictures this time.)
