A manny is a male who takes care of a child much like a nanny does. A manny, or "mannies," are not very common compared to nannies, which are females who take care of children.

The manny role can be occupied by a man hired to do the job or the father when he stays home from work to care of the kids. The profession is slightly growing, as more females are working more and becoming the breadwinners of the household.
