What does putout mean?

Out

A baseball statistic used to keep track of the number of outs recorded by a player; achieved by a fielder who tags out a runner, catches a ball batted in the air, tags a base while in possession of a ball for a force out, catching a third strike, and is closest to a runner called out for interference.

Mauer catches the ball at 1B for the putout to end the inning
