A thirst trap is something provocative that causes a person to be thirsty. It may be something said or done but most commonly takes the form of a pic or vid posted on social media.
Males are often lured into thirst traps, but women are also susceptible. When they see a photo or vid that is sexually suggestive, they become thirsty for the object of their desire (and usually post idiotic comments).
Women posting sexually suggestive content are usually the ones laying thirst traps. They may set the traps accidentally, but they typically do it on purpose to breadcrumb their victims.
