Tix

Tix is short for "tickets." People who are excited about attending a sports game, concert, play, or other event may use this abbreviation when discussing their efforts to get tix.

Because many people attend ticketed events (and can't be bothered to type out the word tickets), tix is a quite common abbreviation. Therefore, you may encounter it in pretty much any type of conversation related to tickets. You may also see tix used in online sale listings, when someone is trying to sell tickets to an event.
