World of Warcraft (WoW) players may use WG as an abbreviation for Wintergrasp. In this PvP zone, players engage in faction-based siege warfare - with one faction defending Wintergrasp Keep while the other assaults it.
WG was added in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, along with Dalaran (Dal), the Icecrown Citadel (ICC), and other locales. To get to WG, players typically take a faction-specific portal from Dal. Notably, the faction that currently controls WG on a server gains access to the Vault of Archavon; the other faction is locked out of the Vault.
