A play where a player is fouled while making a basket

A basketball term for when a player is fouled while making a basket.

The "and one" phrase comes from the opportunity to shoot one free throw after being fouled while making a basket. It commonly describes a foul on a made two-point shot but can also describe a foul on a made three-point shot.
