A college shower is when a person sprays their clothes with an air freshener, such as Febreze, Renuzit, or Glade, to make them smell clean instead of washing them. Typically, teenagers and young adults take college showers to save money, because they are lazy, or because they are incompetent.
It is unclear who coined the term, but the name comes from college students, particularly freshmen, living away from home for the first time and having to learn life skills, such as laundry. Also, college students are known for partying and waking up in locations where they freshen up quickly with an air freshener.
People may also use potent spray deodorants, such as AXE and Old Spice body spray, cologne, and perfume instead of air fresheners. For example, middle school boys often bathe in AXE body spray.
