A finstagram is a fake Instagram account used as an alternate account to a person's main account. Usually, the account is meant to be a more private and realistic depiction of the user.
Finstagrams are commonly used by females as a way to escape the pressures of expectations from their main account. They can post unattractive pictures or post inside jokes that their more intimate group of followers will appreciate. The account is locked allowing the user to screen her or his followers and give permission to followers as to what they can see. A finstagram, or finsta, can also be used as more of a niche account for posting random images, pictures of puppies, video of your alter ego, and more.
