What does fugazi mean?

Fake

A term used to describe something or someone as fake.

The term is rumored to have Italian origins but there is no such word that exists in Italian. It was famously used in the mob film "Donnie Brasco" to describe fake jewelry and in the Wall Street movie "Wolf of Wall Street".
