FUD is shorthand for the three common feelings that can make a person anxious. The FUD acronym is a common strategy in marketing, politics, public relations, etc.
For example, an advertising firm may utilize the FUD tactic to hurt a competitor's sales by casting fear, uncertainty, and doubt in the product potential customers' plans to purchase. People may also use FUD when messaging and referring to feelings of FUD. For example, your friend may text you, "Can you pray or send good thoughts on Friday for my FUD regarding my interview?"
