When responding to something funny, people may send "LOI," which stands for "laughing on the inside." It is a variation of the much more common LOL acronym that is also more accurate (since people rarely laugh out loud when messaging).
For example, your friend may share a story about how poorly her blind date went the previous night, and you respond with, "LOI. I'm so sorry, though. :/" Or, you may send your brother a funny meme, and he simply responds with "LOI."
In some cases, people may also use LOI to communicate that they don't think something is funny. This use comes from the deadpan delivery in real life where they have a straight face but say, "I'm laughing on the inside" as an excuse for why they aren't audibly laughing.
