Low key is a term that describes a person or event as informal or laid back. It is similar to DL, or down low, and is the opposite of high key.
If it is used to describe an event it usually means that the event is simple and just meant to be a gathering to hang out instead of a formal party or meeting where certain etiquette is expected. If it is used to describe a person, it means that the person is relaxed and does not get stressed easily. A low key person does not seek attention and just goes with the flow.
