Also "official" soundtrack. An OST is an original soundtrack from a movie, video game, or tv show. It contains the recorded music that accompanies the visual content. Soundtracks can be purchased digitally or in disc format and listened to as regular albums.

Popular soundtrack writers include John Williams for various films such as Jaws, Star Wars, and E.T., Hans Zimmer for The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, and others, and Nobuo Uematso for the Final Fantasy video game series.
