Outwordle

What does outwordle mean?

To outsmart a Wordle player

Outwordle is when a player outsmarts another Wordle player by guessing the daily puzzle in fewer attempts. You will most likely see outwordle on social media, typically Twitter, when a person shares their completed wordle puzzle, bragging about their success.

Josh Wardle created the online Wordle puzzle game in Fall 2021 with little fanfare. However, by January 2022, millions of people were playing the game thanks to its exponential growth through social media shares. Wardle eventually sold the game to The New York Times on January 31, 2022.

How do you play Wordle?

Wordle is a simple yet challenging game. It features a new puzzle every day that every user plays. It is similar to a crossword puzzle, but you have 6 tries to guess 1 five-letter word.

Each guess appears as a row, and each letter is either grey, yellow, or green. Grey means that the letter is not in the word, yellow means that the letter is in the word BUT not the correct place, and green means that the letter is in the word AND in the correct place.
