Realness refers to how authentic, convincing, or true-to-life someone appears, especially in how they present themselves. It gained wider recognition in the late 20th century through ballroom scenes and became more mainstream with media like Paris Is Burning, which introduced many people to the concept.

Today, people use "realness" more broadly to describe authenticity, confidence, and believability, whether someone is being genuine or successfully pulling off a certain vibe.
