A roofie is a drug concocted to make someone drowsy and disoriented in order to take advantage of her or him. It is often secretly placed in the drink of the victim by the perpetrator.
People may use various types of drugs for roofies, but the most common choice is a tablet of flunitrazepam. Roofies are most often placed in unsuspecting women's drinks in a bar or at a college house party. The woman may be on a date with the perpetrator or may not even know the perpetrator.
While it is commonly used as a noun, roofie may also be used as a verb, as in "he roofie her drink," which means that he drugged her drink.
