Soz is British slang for "sorry." However, because soz is more concise than "sorry," even some non-British texters and chatters have made this term part of their lexicons.
The British have been using soz to mean "sorry" since 1987, in all sorts of contexts. For example, you can say "Soz I crashed your car," "Soz abt tht," or "OMG, I'm so, so soz." (Though if you're really sorry, you may just want to say "sorry" to make that clear).
