AYW

AYW has 2 meanings
1. What does AYW stand for?

As you wish

AYW (as you wish) is a fancy (and slightly obtuse) way of saying "yes." Your SO, especially, might use AYW to let you know they'll do something you've asked of them. (Yes, just like in The Princess Bride.)

Typically, those who respond with AYW are happy to complete whatever task you've set them. However, if you demand too much of the person who sent AYW, they may start responding with DIY instead ...

Example

Can we have Portillo's for dinner tonight?

2. What does AYW stand for?

As you were

When someone sends you AYW (as you were), it typically means you can resume doing whatever you were doing before they started talking to you. For example, if a co-worker sends you AYW at the end of a chat conversation, you should feel free to GB2W (or resume slacking off, if that's what you were doing).

However, some people also use AYW to refer to how you were in the past. For example, if you're questioning your self-identity, your friend Cindy might reassure you by saying "You're the same person AYW five years ago."

Example

Thanks for answering my question. AYW, B2W
