Cybermob

What is a cybermob?

A group of online users that harasses other users

A cybermob is a group of online users that harasses, or gangs up on other users online. They typically appear on social media, chat rooms, and the comment sections of websites.

Members of a cybermob are quick to attack other people's opinions, news stories, and published media much like bees attack a threat to the nest. Cybermobs typically consist of trolls, or keyboard warriors, that act tough online but are most likely physically and emotionally fragile in real life. Some common triggers for cybermobs to initiate are political posts, sports team brags, and Me Too sexual abuse claims.
