A troll is a person who posts offensive comments to get a reaction. Trolls often live in forums and online chat sessions but may appear wherever there are Internet users.
Trolls commonly post comments that aren't true in order to provoke people and/or get people to believe them. The best defense against trolls is to not give them the reaction they are looking for. If they don't get the emotional response they are seeking, most trolls will eventually move on to another opportunity.
