Digital Nomad

What is a digital nomad?

A person who performs their job online while traveling

A digital nomad is a person who works not from home, but while traveling a country or the world. These people have jobs that allow them to work from anywhere there is reliable Internet access, and they use that flexibility to incorporate travel into their lifestyle.

Digital nomads are mostly remote workers, entrepreneurs, and semi-retired individuals. As more companies have allowed workers to work from home (WFH), the digital nomad lifestyle has become more popular. After all, in many cases, there is essentially no difference between working from your home or a beach in Barcelona.

However, the digital nomad lifestyle is not all fun and games. Digital nomads have to manage the logistics of maintaining health insurance, paying the right taxes to the right people, and obtaining visas when they want to cross into another country. Digital nomads also report high incidences of loneliness and burnout. So before you start imagining yourself working from a cafe in Costa Rica, you should really think about whether the digital nomad lifestyle is right for you ...
