When someone responds to your text with "evs," it means they don't have an opinion on what you're talking about. For example, if you ask your friend whether they want to watch a horror movie or a comedy this weekend, and they respond with "evs," it means your friend would watch either movie.
Evs is a shortened form of "whatevs," which is itself a shortened form of "whatever." Because evs is so clipped, it carries an enhanced air of nonchalance that whatevs and whatever do not. Sending evs says, essentially, "I don't even care enough about this topic to type out whatevs."
