Fans of the pop-punk rock band My Chemical Romance often shorten the band's name to MCR. MCR was originally active from 2001 to 2013, but reunited in 2019 for a series of reunion shows.

Alternately classified as alt-rock, pop-punk, post-hardcore, and emo (a label with which the band's members take issue), MCR released several popular albums during their prime, including:

  • Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
  • The Black Parade
  • Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys

Some of the band's most famous songs include hardcore rock ballads and anthems such as "Welcome to the Black Parade," "Helena," and "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)"
