A mimbo is a male who is not very bright but attractive. The term is typically used to refer to a man who has a lot of good looks but may act dumb or have a low IQ.
The term was made popular in the early 1990s by Seinfeld, a TV sitcom. The term appeared in the 1994 episode "The Stall" when Jerry accuses Elaine of dating her boyfriend only because he is attractive. Jerry proceeds to call him a "male bimbo", then shortens it to "mimbo." Some mimbos are oblivious to their good looks, whereas others flaunt it.
