Take the pop culture acronym challenge
Fans of Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie use MLP to refer to My Little Pony. This toy and multimedia juggernaut originated in 1981, but its current iteration became popular in 2003.
The current version of MLP consists of a popular animated series, titled My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, and its associated toy line and multimedia spin-offs. The weirdest of these is likely MLP: Equestria Girls, a spin-off series and toy line that stars anthropomorphized, teen versions of the main MLP characters.
While MLP is most popular among young girls, you may also encounter male and/or adult fans of the series. Male adult fans of MLP often refer to themselves as bronies.
