OPI

What does OPI mean in regard to professionals?

Overpaid idiot

A highly-paid person who is bad at their job may be referred to as an OPI (overpaid idiot). You're most likely to encounter this acronym in the workplace, when a coworker is dissing their manager or your company's CEO.

However, you may see OPI used to refer to other incompetent, overly-paid people. For example, an American football fan who is mad at their team's QB may refer to that QB as an OPI. Or, someone who is upset about how a city construction project is being executed may refer to their city planner and engineer as OPIs.

Example

He thinks the ppl on the board are just a bunch of OPIs
Well, he's not wrong
