Pin-seeker

What does pin-seeker mean?

Golf shot hit straight at the flagstick

Pin-seeker is a golf shot that is hit straight at the pin, or flagstick. It is similar to heat-seeking missile where the shot seems to be actively looking for the flagstick.

A pin-seeker is usually a good thing in golf as the goal is to hit the ball into the hole with the least amount of strokes. However, some courses force you to take more of an indirect approach around obstacles and hazards. The term may also appear as "pin seeker."
