QTPOC is an acronym many queer and/or trans people of color (POC) use to identify themselves online. They typically use it on social media, when messaging online, or in online forums.
The LGBTQ community encompasses many people from various backgrounds, which is why they coined the QTPOC acronym. It is an extension of QPOC that is meant to be specific toward people (or a single person) that are non-white and are transitioning or are non-hetero, non-cis.
QTPOC gained popularity in 2020, and while you may hear or see it in real life, most people use it online. For example, a person may post in a forum about the difficulties of being QTPOC. Or, a person might refer to the QTPOC group when addressing human rights in a post on Twitter.
