Tar is a football abbreviation that refers to the number of targets a WR receives from his QB. The stat indicates the potential of a WR to score pts because the more targets mean the more opportunities.
The tar stat is used to determine which WR is worth starting in a lineup. However, the tar number doesn't always translate to more points because some WR are know for high drop rates. Therefore, you should also look at the WR's number of rec compared to the tar number to get a better idea of the pts they will produce.
