A Trumpster is an ardent supporter of U.S. President Donald J. Trump. Most people use the nickname online, especially on social sites, like Twitter and Facebook, but they may also use it in person.
Trumpster became popular in the summer of 2016 as Trump gained followers in his bid for the Republican nomination for POTUS. It then spiked in January of 2017 when Trump was inaugurated and steadily declined after that. It exploded again at the end of 2020, and the beginning of 2021 as Trump contested the Presidential election results.
Trumpster is primarily used negatively by liberals to criticize Trump supporters. While some Trump supporters don't appreciate the name, many are proud of it, like when they rallied around the "deplorables" nickname made famous by Hilary Clinton in 2016.
