StarCraft 2 (SC2) players use TvP to stand for Terran versus Protoss. This acronym describes a match in which a Terran player faces off against a Protoss player.
In SC2 PvP (not to be confused with Protoss versus Protoss) games, players pick from one of the game's three races and attempt to defeat their opponent. The Terrans are SC2's human race, while the Protoss are psionic, technologically-advanced aliens.
Most players agree that the TvP matchup favors the Protoss player. However, the Terran player can win the matchup, provided they know how to defend themself against early Protoss aggression.
