What is wknd short for?

Wknd is an easy (and e-less) way to abbreviate "weekend." You're likely to see wknd used in text or chat messages, in which a friend, family member, or co-worker is asking what you're up to this Saturday and Sunday.

People also use wknd in messages detailing their own weekend plans. For example, your friend Brian might tell you "Sorry, my gf and I are headed to Vegas this wknd," after you ask him if he wants to hang out Saturday night. (See also: forever alone.)

Hey, do u have plans this wknd?
Yeah, Joe and I are headed up north to go skiing
... cool, cool

A man who is excited for the wknd
