Brazilian butt lift
BBL is a plastic surgery term that stands for "Brazilian butt lift," a procedure that augments the shape and size of a person's buttocks without using implants. People may also use it on social media, especially on TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter, to comment on the size and shape of a person's rear end.
Mostly women are the consumers of BBLs as they look to change the shape of their gluteus maximus to reflect those of the social influencers they follow. For example, when Kim Kardashian sported a BBL (with some accusing her of profiting off of the black woman's body shape) in the 2010s, requests for the procedure increased significantly. However, in 2022, the trend appeared to have waned, with many influencers reducing or removing the effects of their BBLs.

BBL is similar to the BRB, BBIAB, and BBS acronyms, which are all used to tell a person that you aren't available at the moment but will be back again. For example, you may be texting with some friends but have to go into a meeting, so you text them, "At the meeting. BBL." Or, you might be messaging friends online, but you have to go eat dinner with the fam, so you message them, "BBL. Gotta go eat."
