Bust

What does bust mean?

A player who does not perform well

A bust is a player who does not perform up to expectations. The term is mainly used in sports such as football, baseball, basketball, and fantasy leagues.

When players don't meet expectations placed on them by fans and analysts they are quickly labeled a "bust." Oftentimes, the term is used in fantasy sports when team owners draft players based on their perceived potential to earn points. But when the player fails to score the projected point total due to injury, poor performance, etc. he or she is considered a bust.

Example

I'm never taking Doug Martin again, he was a bust for me two years ago and now I'm jaded
