Ceiling is a term that refers to a player's upside, otherwise known as the level a player can perform at when playing his best. It is commonly used in fantasy sports, such as football, baseball, or basketball.
To be successful in fantasy you must be able to accurately assess players' values as well as get lucky with sleepers and injuries. Accurately predicting the ceiling of players enables fantasy owners to draft intelligently and put the right players in the most impactful positions. If you are wrong about a player's ceiling and draft him too high it could ruin your whole team and season.
