Creepypastas are horror stories that are shared on the Internet. This slang term is a portmanteau of "creepy" and "copypasta."
Originally, creepypastas were typically written and posted anonymously, either in blogs or forums. This allowed other users to copy and repost them elsewhere - making them a variant of copypasta.
Over time, however, creepypasta has become its own increasingly elaborate genre of Internet fiction.
