Cut Class

What does it mean to cut class?

Not attend class

A student who cut class is purposefully not attending that class. Typically, students cut class to go do something more fun, instead of "wasting time" sitting in class. However, some students may cut class to sleep in or, on rare occasions, complete hmwk for a different class.

Teachers, parents, and other authority figures frown on cutting class. Thus, those who cut class frequently are likely to get in trouble. They're also likely to have worse academic performance, as many sources have shown that attending class correlates with better grades.

Example

I'm gonna cut class today. Can you cover for me?
Sure thing. You now have the flu
Thanks!

And neither should you
