Pop Quiz

A pop quiz is a short quiz that a teacher gives in class without notice. These surprise quizzes have been the bane of many a student, who either didn't complete the class's required reading or chose to cut class.

Typically, teachers give pop quizzes to check whether students have actually done that day's reading. For this reason, pop quizzes tend to be simple reading comprehension checks. However, an exacting or salty teacher may give their students a difficult pop quiz, to challenge the students' understanding of what they read.
