What does double bogey mean?

Double bogey is a golf score that means two strokes over par. It is worse than a bogey but better than a triple bogey.

Golf scoring revolves around par, which is the number of strokes judged by officials to complete a course hole. There are several other common golf score terms such as eagle (two strokes under par) and birdie (one stroke under par). Bogey (one over par), double bogey, and triple bogey (three shots over par) are more commonly recorded than birdie and eagle as many golfers are not very good.
